Claud Victor Janes was an economist who was Manager of the Economic Department of the Bank of New South Wales from 1931 to 1939 and who co-authored a number of economics books with D.B. Copland (see obitiuary in "Australian quarterly", June 1959). His wife, Dr Irene Sebire, was a child psychiatrist who was the first female Diploma of Psychological Medicine in Australia.
